P5000 Pressure Sensor is Designed for High Pressure Applications for Both the Transportation & Industrial Markets

MOORPARK, Calif. – Kavlico, a global business unit of Custom Sensors & Technologies (CST), is pleased to announce the release of their P5000 High Pressure Sensor. The P5000 utilizes a thin film strain gage sensing element paired with Kavlico’s custom ASIC, producing an accurate and highly stable output.

The rugged 316L/17-4 PH, all-welded stainless steel construction permits the sensor to be installed in harsh, high vibration environments found in the transportation and Industrial sectors.

Typical Transportation applications include: pressure measurement of Compressed & Liquefied Natural Gas (CNG & LNG)) systems, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) systems, Gasoline & Diesel Direct Injection systems (GDI & DDI), power steering controls, and mobile A/C systems utilizing R744/CO2.

Typical Industrial application include: pressure measurement in compressors, hydraulic systems, refrigeration systems, injection molding equipment, and fuel cells.

The temperature compensated sensors are available in pressure ranges of 0-80 through 0-350 and 50 to 160 BAR. Operating on a 5 Vdc power supply, the sensors provide an amplified linear output of 0.5 to 4.5 Vdc proportional to pressure. Other significant features include an operating temperature (media) of -40 to +180°C, low power consumption, and excellent overpressure and vibration tolerance. The built-in mating connection makes installation quick and easy.

The sensor is ideal for high volume applications and is easily adapted to meet the application-specific criteria of OEM’s including custom packaging, alternative pressure ranges, pressure port connections, electrical configurations, and output formats.
