Systron Donner Inertial Introduces the New QRS116 High-Performance MEMS Angular Rate Sensor

Walnut Creek, CA – Systron Donner Inertial (SDI), an operating division of Custom Sensors & Technologies (CST), introduces the QRS116, a new high performance MEMS quartz rate sensor for both tactical and critical applications.

The QRS116 provides unprecedented angle random walk values, outstanding bias stability and superior vibration performance while maintaining the identical compact package size of its industry standard QRS11 sensor. The QRS116 is an evolutionary designed product, leveraging SDI’s new high-performance MEMS quartz tuning fork sensing element and discrete electronics to achieve the demanding performance levels required by tactical aerospace and other critical applications. The very low noise, excellent bias stability and superior vibration performance characteristics makes the QRS116 the uncontested choice for applications ranging from tactical to critical instrumentation.

The QRS116’s performance specifications include ≤ 3°/hr. bias stability over temperature, 0.12°/√hr. Angle Random Walk (2X better than QRS11) and 1,000g shock survival (5X better than QRS11).

Production units are available in May 2009.
