Kavlico Introduces Multi-Purpose High Performance OEM Pressure Sensor

MOORPARK, Calif. – Kavlico, a global business unit of Custom Sensors & Technologies (CST) is pleased to announce the availability of their 4th generation ceramic capacitive pressure sensor, the model P500 which is packaged with Kavlico’s state-of-the-art ASIC. Rugged and highly reliable, this multi-purpose sensor is ideal for measuring a broad range of process media including hydrocarbon based fluids, air, and water.

Typical industrial pressure sensor applications include:

• Pumps (Water Pressure)
• Suction and Discharge Pressure in Stationary and Portable Compressors
• Process Controls (Fluid & Gas Pressures)
• Scientific Instruments (Spectrometers and Chromatography Analysis Equipment)
• Test Equipment
• Stem Sterilizers
• Air Pressure

Typical transportation applications include:

• Oil & Fuel Pressure
• Coolant Pressure
• Agricultural Equipment
• CNG & Natural Gas Engines

The extremely compact sensor (less than 50 grams in weight and <1.6" in length) can be packaged in brass, stainless steel or carbon plated steel dependent upon pressure range and measurement requirement. Standard pressure ranges are available from 0 – 15 through 0 – 750 PSI and 0–1 through 0–40 Bar, absolute or sealed gage.

Other significant features include outstanding shock and vibration performance, low power consumption, high over pressure protection, excellent EMI/RFI, and ESD protection, and a temperature compensated linear amplified output of 0.5 to 4.5 Vdc. Operating temperature is -40 to +125°C when using a fluorsilicone o-ring.

Standard packaging includes a built-in Metri-Pack 150 Series electrical connector although other options may be specified while the process connection may be specified with a variety of popular thread options. The Model P500 is RoHS compliant and carries CE Mark certification and is IP65 rated.
