Crydom’s 3RHP, Golden Mousetrap Awards 2009 Finalist!

Crydom is pleased to announce that its 3Phase Hybrid Solid State Contactor was named finalist in the Power Management & Control subcategory
at the Design News Golden Mousetrap Awards 2009

San Diego, CA – For more than two decades, the Design News Awards Program has recognized engineering innovation and creativity in product design. This year, Crydom participated in the Golden Mousetrap awards in the Electronics category, Power Management & Control subcategory and became one of the few finalists.

The 3RHP is part of the Crydom’s new line of high power Hybrid Solid State Contactors launched last January and that incorporates Crydom’s proven Hybrid SSR technology that utilizes contactless Solid State Relay turn on and turn off performance, coupled with the very low on state power dissipation characteristics of contactors, thus eliminating the need for a heat sink. The 3RHP provides a cost effect alternative to mercury displacement relays where they are no longer permitted due to environmental issues, and DP contactors in cases where life expectancy for DP contacts limits their use. The 3RHP provides many of the features of solid state switching without the need for heat sinks, and provides superior life expectancy compared to contactors.
